INVITATION FOR BIDS

Separate sealed bids for construction of W.O. 20-40: Walter Pump Station Generator will be received by the Billings City Clerk, P.O. Box 1178, Billings, MT 59103 or until 2:00 P.M. local time on June 9, 2020, and then publicly opened and read aloud via Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page: Billings MT City Government. No hand delivered bids will be accepted.

The project generally consists of providing the following components and work:

• Construction of a concrete pad for new generator
• Furnishing and installation of a new generator
• Related electrical and control work
• Furnishing and installation of new rain gutter, downspout and miscellaneous site work at existing building site

There will be a non-mandatory virtual Pre-Bid Conference using Microsoft Skype and/or a conference bridge at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 1, 2020. Interested Contractors are encouraged to attend. Contractor's and any of the Contractor's subcontractors bidding or doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling 1-406-444-7734. All laborers and mechanics employed by Contractors or subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates in accordance with the Montana Statewide Prevailing Wage Rates included in the Project Manual. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to the “City of Billings, MT”, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful BIDDERS shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. Bids submitted via email shall have the bid bond scanned and included with the bid. Bids submitted via mail shall have any of the bid securities included.

No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids, which is 2:00 PM local time, June 9, 2020.
