Separate sealed bids for the construction of City of Billings Work Order 19-01, Schedule 1 – 1st Avenue North Water Main Replacement, Billings, Montana will be received by the City of Billings at the Office of the City Clerk in City Hall, 210 North 27th Street, Billings, Montana 59101 or P.O. Box 1178, Billings, Montana 59103 until 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, and then publicly opened and read aloud.
The project generally consists of the following work:
The City of Billings Work Order (W.O.) 19-01, Schedule 1 – 1st Avenue North Water Main Replacement project consists of the replacement of various size water mains with new 12-inch PVC water main and associated appurtenances in 1st Avenue North. The Schedule 1A project area extends from the east side of North 33rd Street to the west side of North 25th Street and includes approximately 3,425 lineal feet of new 12-inch water main. The Schedule 1B project area extends from the east side of North 15th Street to the east side of the 1st Avenue North/Main Street intersection and includes the installation of approximately 3,250 lineal feet of new 12-inch water main.

and www.montanabid.com There will be a non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference at the office of the City of Billings Public Works Depot Conference Room; 2224 Montana Avenue, Billings, MT, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Interested CONTRACTORS are encouraged to attend.
All bids and contracts submitted under this invitation shall comply with the Provision of Article 13-500, Billings, Montana City Code unless modified in the Contract Documents.
CONTRACTOR and any of the CONTRACTOR’S subcontractors bidding or doing work on this project will be required to be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling (406) 444-7734. All laborers and mechanics employed by CONTRACTOR or subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as may be required by the laws of Yellowstone County and the state of Montana including the Montana Statewide Prevailing Wage Rates included in the Project Manual. The CONTRACTOR must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Billings, Montana in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful BIDDERS shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and aLabor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids, which is 2:00 p.m. local time Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid which is in the best interest of the City of Billings.
