Days of service very depending on what area of town you are in, so please give the office a call at (406) 657-8260. We are open 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.
Residential service is $10.71 per month, per unit, so if you have a duplex it will be $10.71 per month for each unit regardless of whether there is one barrel for both units or each unit has a barrel. For residents that have more than one barrel it is $3.57 per month per extra barrel. The charge for service is placed on the utility bill.
We do not pickup loose garbage or yard waste. We will pick it up if it is boxed or bagged.
No, if you have a green yard waste barrel please place them in the barrel. We will pick leaves up if they are boxed or bagged and placed with your regular trash if you have curb service. For alley service they can be placed in the barrel if there is room on the day before your collection, always leave room for household trash or they can be boxed or bagged and placed on your side of the alley.
Every situation is different but the majority of the time is the garbage was out after 7:00 am, it was to close too a vehicle or other obstacle. For extra it could be that your extra can is too big or the branches were not bundled. Also we do not pick anything up with FREON in it.

Yard waste is collected starting the month of April (the first full week of April) through November (the last full week of November). This is weather permitting. We do not collect yard waste in January, February, March or December.
There is no charge to City of Billings residents for household and yard waste at 0-1500 lbs. For residential household and yard waste over 1500 lb, and for all construction/demolition waste the rate is $19.85/ ton. Special charges will apply for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, tires and other unusual items for all landfill users. All “Out of City” residents will be subject to a charge. The landfill is open 8:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Saturday.
The landfill is located at 5240 Jellison Rd. From the I-90 exit at South Billings Blvd, head south until you cross the Yellowstone River. Look for the 'Landfill' signs, and turn west (right) on Jellison Rd. The entrance is about a 1/2 mile from South Billings Blvd on the left hand side of the road.
Residents of Carbon, Stillwater, Musselshell, Treasure, Yellowstone counties and the City of Pryor and Big Timber can all use the landfill. We do take out of state waste from parts of Wyoming. For more information, please call 247-8633.
You can bring household trash, yard waste, construction and demolition debris, dead animals and tires. Other wastes, such as asbestos, refrigerators and contaminated soils, are also accepted with special provisions and fees. The landfill has a drop-off area for residents to drop off Household Hazardous Waste during normal landfill hours. Items accepted include used oil and antifreeze, paint, yard chemicals, vehicle batteries, fluorescent tubes, light ballasts, pool chemicals. Household electronics can also be dropped off for recycling or landfill disposal.
Yellowstone E-Waste Solutions
Both friable and non-friable asbestos are accepted at the landfill for disposal. However, asbestos is ONLY accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and prior approval is required. City of Billings residents may take refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners to the Landfill for $25.00. Non-residents will be assessed a higher fee for these services. To view the current rates and fees click here.
Businesses can set up an account after filling out a credit application and prior approval. You must have a business license on file.
The Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste Programs in the DEQ Waste and Underground Tank Management Bureau agree with the Federal guidelines. The clean-up residue can simply be placed in the household garbage for disposal. The department also recommends that powdered sulfur be sprinkled over the spill area fifteen (15)minutes prior to the final clean up of the broken CFL. Sulfur forms an amalgam with the mercury particles forming larger particles that are less likely to be dispersed by a vacuum cleaner exhaust. Powdered sulfur can be found at most hardware or garden stores.
