MET Transit is excited to announce a new way to buy your bus pass and pay your fares! MET has partnered with TouchPass to provide electronic fares and easy online account management. Passengers may now manage their accounts and store passes on their smartphones by downloading the TouchPass app from the Google Play Store or the Apple Appstore. Payment information may be saved directly in the passenger account with options for all fare media available including stored value for individual fares. Passengers should familiarize themselves with the new "fare capping" policy and 31-day passes by visiting the bus fares page (click here).
Passengers who do not have access to a smartphone may contact the MET at 406-657-8218 or visit the MET in person to obtain a transit fare smartcard. A permanent card will be issued to the passenger to utilize; both the smartphone app and the smartcard will allow for all fare types and can be easily reloaded online vai the app, by visiting TouchPass.com or by contacting the MET.
Individuals who qualify for a discounted fare, such as students or those with a disability, may contact the MET directly to discuss their situation or they may visit the discount fare application page (click here) and upload verification of discount fare eligibility.
When boarding the bus, simply touch your TouchPass smart card to the card reader or hold your phone in front of the reader camera with the TouchPass app open and displaying your pass QR code. The reader will give a green light for valid fares and a red light for invalid fares.
