This intersection was identified as a candidate for signalization in a 1998 update of the Traffic Signal Priority Study. Based on its ranking in the 1998 update, it is the next priority that should be considered for installation of a traffic signal, independent of a larger street reconstruction project.
The project may include construction contract administration, depending on the level of improvements to be constructed and the City's workload at the time construction would take place. The project design will need to consider:
- Available right of way
- Safety and sight distance improvements
- Necessary geometric and street widening improvements on both intersecting roadways
